Hospitality & Cookery Trainers Networking Lunch

IVET is hosting a networking lunch for hospitality and cookery trainers, and a day out of the school kitchen to go with it.

It starts with a tour of one of Australia’s leading tertiary hospitality training facilities, taking in the Certificate III Commercial Cookery, Patisserie and Hospitality kitchens. These are the rooms your students could end up in after school, so you will see the pathway rather than read about it. Then a live demonstration from an industry expert.

Lunch is two courses, and it is the part worth coming for. A relaxed couple of hours with colleagues doing exactly what you do, comparing how you structure your program, what actually holds student interest, and how you manage the practical side with the kitchen and the equipment you have got. Bring the questions you do not get to ask anyone else.

We finish with a walk through Queen Victoria Market, one of the largest open-air markets in the Southern Hemisphere, with time to wander the deli, meat and produce halls and take something home.

You will leave with a few contacts worth keeping, an idea or two you can use next term, and PD hours for your record.
